This book is about loving on purpose and I wrote with a definite purpose in mind. Too many of my married friends were living lives of quiet - and sometimes noisy - desperation. Every day I heard complaints (from both husbands and wives) about the many things their relationships lacked. I knew from my own experience that it was possible to have a life long marriage full of romance, intimacy and great sex, so I decided to share what I've learned in over 3 decades with my wife to help couples experience a more physically and emotionally fulfilling union.

Of course, deciding to write a book and actually doing it are two different things. For me it took one more nudge to push me from thought into action. My wife (Pat) and I are 6 months apart in age. She surprised me on my 40th birthday with a house full of screaming, carousing friends who spent the day ribbing me about getting old in terms both crude and hilarious. Later, as Pat and I cleaned up after the party, she said to me, very seriously, "don't do this for me".  Instead, for her 40th, I surprised her with a special trip from her "someday" wish list (you can read about it in Chapter 3 - Plan for Some Sizzle!)  It was such a hit with Pat and everyone else who helped me pull it off, or who heard about it afterward, that people started asking me to write a book...so I did.

This book is not heavy on theory or psychology. It is easy to read, sharing short personal stories that illustrate Seven Strategies for a Sexier Marriage. Each chapter asks some straight forward questions to help you better understand these strategies and how you can apply them to your own relationship. You will also find examples of the results you can expect to achieve by using these strategies...and some surprising life bonuses that may come your way as well!
